Tom K in Hall of Fame

Wednesday evening a truly proud Tom Kristensen received the honorary 'BT Award' at the 'Danish Motorsport Award' in Copenhagen.

The special award was one of the highlights of the evening, as it marked the beginning of a Hall of Fame, where drivers are honored for their achievements and merits throughout their career.

Great names were nominated for the honorary award beside Tom K.  These were the former Formula 1 driver Jan Magnussen, the first Danish Le Mans winner John Nielsen and the speedway legend Ole Olsen.

"I am very proud. To receive the "BT Award" in competition with Jan, John and Ole is a huge honor. It is four great racing drivers, who have contributed with several golden moments in Danish motorsport history. Therefore I am proud that so many people have voted for me as the first person to receive the 'BT Award'," Tom Kristensen said.

Earlier in the evening, Tom Kristensen presented the award for 'Car Driver of the Year', which was won by the talented Kevin Magnussen. And the Le Mans legend had nothing but praise for the youngster:

"Kevin is a great guy and has been a huge talent for a long time. Based on his performances in the recent years this award is more than well deserved. I am sure that we will se Kevin in Formula 1 some years down the road," were the words from TK.

In general the Audi driver was in impressed with the event and the praise of the talents in Danish motorsport.

"I think the evening belongs to the young drivers. They are the future of Danish motorsport and 'Danish Motorsport Award' is a good way to praise them," the Dane ended.
