As well as Audi engineer Leena Gade and teammate Allan McNish
the Dane was both enthusiastic and optimistic regarding the future,
which seemed to please the thousands of spectators.
"It is a golden era for sportscar racing. The Le Mans series is
now a FIA World Championship which means that all teams will go
even further to be on the top of the podium at the end of the
season. The World Championship title is very appealing. 24 Hours of
Le Mans will count double in terms of points in the World
Championship, so it will also be more important than ever. Further,
Toyota has announced their comeback at Le Mans, which we are all
looking forward to. In 2012 the competition will be even fiercer
and that is good both for the sport and for the fans, " was the
honest comment from TK regarding the 2012 season.
After a few words on TK's success at Goodwood Revival Mr. Le
Mans ended by thanking the audience and the Audi team:
"I think Audi has been the best manufacturer in recent years and
it has been a privilege to get the opportunity to work with so many
talented people and share the success with the team. I very much
look forward to continue all this in 2012, " Kristensen
emphasized.
Tom K flew directly to the Autosport International from La Santa
where the Dane has been working on his form on the bicycle during
the week.
