The event was held at the ÖAMTC Safe Driving Centre in Teesdorf,
where the 24 Hour Le Mans Champion promoted eSafety systems for
more than 300 delegates and representatives of the press.
The event also included the participation of Formula One World
Champion, Sebastian Vettel, racing driver Alexander Wurz and Moto
GP Driver Marco Simoncelli.
"Raising awareness for the life-saving potential of advanced
vehicle safety technologies is highly relevant and extremely
important to me. As a racing driver I know the benefits of having
advanced technology systems in cars. Today we have the opportunity
to opt for intelligent eSafety systems instead of just choosing
colour, interior and visual appearance when we buy a new car. In
the end this it what could save lives on the European roads," Tom
Kristensen explains.
Once again, the demonstrations of eSafety technologies were this
year's main point of attraction for the public. Tom Kristensen was
in charge of demonstrating Warning and Emergency Braking, but also
the use of systems such as Electronic Stability Control, Blind Spot
Monitoring, Lane Support and Tyre Pressure Monitoring was
shown.
